My Hair Regimen

Daily mist with shea moisture mist (will make my own mist when I run out) plus shea moisture milk plus castor oil/shea butter
Weekly: Wash with black soap and use leave in conditioner + aloe vera juice + coconut oil + castor oil (jojoba oil) OR Deep condition with yoghurt/mayonnaise/rhassoul clay/coconut oil/regular conditioner followed with co-wash and use leave in conditioner + aloe vera juice + coconut oil + castor oil (jojoba oil). I use black soap once a month and rhassoul clay once in 2 months.
I do not style my hair. I am hair styling challenged and too lazy to bother. I wear only wash and gos, which works perfect on my 4c hair by the way!!!!! I tried a twist out twice – complete waste of my time. I didn’t like the look and I promptly added water.
Prior to October 2013, I combed my hair almost daily. Now I can’t even if I wanted to. I rarely detangle but while in the shower, I try to comb in sections. I do get lots of single strand knot and tangles.
Products I have/use for my hair

Coconut Oil – Love it. I use on hair and body.
Jojoba Oil – Why did I buy this again? Will probably use as a body lotion and to lock in moisture. Will not replace this product when I run out.
Jamaican Black Castor Oil - Like it for scalp massages
Pimento Oil – will not replace this product when I run out
Peppermint Oil – Like it for scalp massages and in rhassoul clay mix
Shea Moisture Shea Butter – will not replace this product when I run out. Will buy a “no name” shea butter from home.
Shea Moisture Curling Souffle – will not replace this product when I run out. Will use Aloe vera gel if I need a gel.
Shea Moisture Curl enhancing Smoothie – will not replace this product when I run out
Shea Moisture Curl and Style Milk (Yucca and coconut & Hibiscus) - will not replace this product when I run out.
Shea Moisture Hair Conditioner – Like it for use as a leave in conditioner
Shea Moisture Hair Mist (Yucca and coconut & Hibiscus) – will not replace this product when I run out. Will make my own mist
Aloe Vera Juice - I don’t see what it does to my hair but I will continue to use it.
Apple Cider Vinegar - will not replace this product when I run out. I don’t see what it does to my hair and I do not care for the smell.
Tresemme Naturals Moisture Conditioner – Like it for use as a co-wash/rinse out conditioner
Rhassoul Clay – Like it for use as facial mask and to clean my hair
Dudu Osun Black Soap – Love it. I use on hair, body and face

Good 'ole days

Labour is the cure for penury
Be hardworking, my friends
Diligence brings about greatness
When you have none to depend upon
When you seem to be the weakling
When you find none to put your hopes onIt is then you must double on your efforts
Your mother may be moneyed
Your father may have many horsesIf you depend on them
You are condemned, I tell you
What we do not strive forDoes not endure
But the fruit of our labour
Will last long in our hands
Your hands are your family
Your elbows are your kinsmen
The world may love you today
They will tomorrow, if only you are wealthy still
Or you are in a great office
And the world celebrates you with laughter
Wait till you are struggling to surviveA
nd watch them ridicule you
Also, learning leads one to greatness
Pay attention and study very hard
Do not play away your youth. my friend
Be diligent in labour, for the day flies away

Inspiring

So, if you're "in over your head" today, here's a prayer just for you: "Father, it feels like I'm in an impossible situation with no way out. I need to feel Your presence, the encouragement of Your Spirit, and to be reminded that with You all things are possible. Bring the answers of Heaven to my earthly situation. Touch it with Your grace. On the outside things look hopeless, but You're the God who created the earth from nothing and rolled back the Red Sea so Your children could cross over safely. You make the blind see, the lame walk, and the deaf hear. Today I thank You that You're my God, and with You nothing is impossible."

My mentor said:

Learn the principles of managing your manager. Splash a little grease and mud on your face and coverall, look dog tired in fact sit on the bare floor like a refugee. That should convince any stone heart that you ve earned your pay that day.
